Foam rolling just feels SO good, it’s basically a self-myofascial release (SMR) technique. I love to roll when I need to relieve muscle tightness, soreness, and inflammation! Basically me right now 🙄 but it’s also something you can do on a Sunday to prep yourself for the week ahead ! 😋.
Foam rolling can also be an effective tool to add to your warm-up and cool down too! Just stretching alone is not always enough to release muscles tightness. Imagine a bungee cord with a knot tied into it and then envision stretching the cord. This creates tension, stretching the unknotted portion of the muscle and the attachment points. The knot, however, has remained unaltered, when you start to use a foam roller the facia ‘knot’ is smoothed out!!
